The Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) was found in 1920 to promote, protect and encourage international and domestic commerce through the Port of Virginia. In 1920 the Association was first known as the Norfolk Maritime Exchange and has gone through several name changes since, in 2006 the name Virginia Maritime Association was chosen. The VMA strongly supports the growth of Virginia’s maritime industry and plays a vital leadership role to ensure that the Port of Virginia remains competitive in its waterborne commerce.
Robbins Maritime is a proud and active member of the Virginia Maritime Association serving on the Tug and Barge committee, where we work other port partners including the United States Coast Guard, other tug companies, and state and federal organizations to ensure efficiency and safety to the flow of maritime commerce in the port of Virginia.

Our tugs range size from 25 foot Push Boats that work locally in Norfolk Harbor, to our large model bow tugs that primarily support dredging operations and maritime construction jobs.

We offer a variety of barges ranging from 110’x30’ to our modular shurgart barges that can be assembled to meet the specific need of any situations.

Our outboard vessel can support any operations whether its working as a security vessel at a local shipyard with a police officer on board to operating as a supply/crew boat to support other vessel that working in the area.
